The next meeting of the Highland Lakes Tea Party will be on Wed, Feb 16, 2011 at Darci's Deli located at 909 3rd in Marble Falls. The meeting will begin at 5:30 in the evening and should last approximately one hour.

Many activities have been undertaken since our last meeting. We will bring you all up to speed on the progress of our Tea Party groups.
To date there are around 300 groups in the State of Texas alone. Wade Huber will report on a meeting he attended in Houston that addressed ways groups can bring Tea Party ideals of conservatives into a cohesive voice for the 2012 primaries.
Many from our area attended a rally at the opening of the state capital where the speaker of the House race was a big issue. We will have a report on this rally and the opening day of the legislative session.
We now have an initiative in the state to focus on regional meetings where Tea Party groups and various conservative groups can begin to dialog, meet and hopefully form into five regions. These regions will inform each other of various activities such as speakers, dinners, meetings, candidates, etc.
As we all start to "talk," we will keep the momentum going in the Tea Party movement so that we may impact local, state and national elections. The Tea Parties are getting stronger and more involved every day.
We will give you all an update on our outreach with the Hispanic and African American initiatives and our plans for the 2011 year. We also will give you an opportunity to get involved in any area that you are interested in as we go forward to 2012.
